Giving Month – Neighborhood Healthcare
October 1, 2019
We are proud to support Neighborhood Healthcare and their “Reach out and Reach Program” during our Giving Month of October. Our CFO, Denise Maiorano Torrez, is our charity champion this month!
Founded in 1969 and incorporated in 1971, Neighborhood Healthcare provides quality health care and promote wellness to everyone in our communities, focusing on those most in need regardless of the ability to pay. As a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) community health organization, they serve as a safety net for the community by providing 271,00 medical, dental and behavioral health visits to 67,000 people annually.
Reach Out and Read is a national literacy program that distributes new books to infants and children up to the age of five. Children receive age-appropriate books at their wellness exams. Through the Reach Out and Read program at participating Neighborhood Healthcare locations, more than 9,000 children receive a new book to take home and keep every year.
Books can be dropped off at PRAVA offices through October and/or at our October 17th Contractor Beer Social.
